hosted the largest Party in Fort
Worth since it began in 1994. Total booty raised for the Fort
Worth Promotion & Development Fund is still being worked up, but
even before ta evenin' began, support from the business community and the
lubbers of Fort Worth was so smashin' that we had a waitin' list until
Saturday morning. T'wer completely SOLD OUT !!
Deborah Ferguson (she
be co-anchor for NBC 5 Today) and Steve Lamb (WBAP's sports anchor) t'wer
honorary MC's, Her Mayorship Betsy Price was held for ransom and almost had
ta
walk the plank, Ridglea Watch and Jewelry offered up the Crown Jewels,
Senator Wendy Davis presented a Proclamation from the Texas Senate
recognizing the value of the work done for Fort Worth by the Promotion
Fund, and the Renaissance Worthington Fort Worth Hotel catered a dinner
to keel-haul for.
And then The Party
began, and Blimey, what a bash!! More'n 1400 mateys climbed aboard,
dancin' the jig and drinkin' grog, and biddin' fer
booty that'd make a lubber dizzy.
